Sentenced To Be A Hero Season 2 Officially Announced.
Sentenced to Be a Hero, based on the light novel by Rocket Shōkai and illustrated by Mephisto, received an anime adaptation that premiered on January 3, 2026. Originally announced in July 2023 at the Dengeki Bunko 30th Anniversary event, the series was produced by Studio Kai and directed by Hiroyuki Takashima. It streamed on Crunchyroll and ran for a total of 12 episodes.
The story follows Xylo Forbartz, a former knight turned leader of a penal unit after being accused of killing a goddess. He teams up with a new goddess named Teoritta as they battle hordes of demons in an effort to protect humanity. Not long after the first season concluded, a second season was announced during the AnimeJapan panel event, with an ultra teaser visual and announcement trailer released alongside the news.
Details such as a release date or any other pertinent information were not revealed at the time of writing.
Like the first season, the second will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll when it premieres. For now, it’s just a matter of waiting, but if the first season was anything to go by, there’s plenty to look forward to when Xylo and Teoritta return.
