Trigun Stargaze Starts in January 2026.

When Trigun Stampede premiered in early 2023, it marked the return of one of anime’s most recognizable gunslingers. Produced by Studio Orange, the series reimagined Yasuhiro Nightow’s Trigun manga with modern CG animation and a completely new narrative structure. Rather than simply retelling the original story, Stampede built its own version of Vash the Stampede’s world, reshaping familiar characters and events for a new generation of viewers.

Set on the desert planet Noman’s Land, the story follows Vash, a wandering outlaw with a massive bounty on his head, as he tries to navigate the fallout of humanity’s dependence on mysterious energy-producing beings known as Plants. The series gradually uncovers his connection to these entities and his fractured relationship with his twin brother, Knives Millions, whose ideology threatens the fragile balance between humans and Plants.

The first season ended with the city of Julai in ruins and Vash disappearing from sight, setting up a major time skip that will lead directly into the sequel. Studio Orange confirmed in March 2023 that the story will conclude with Trigun Stargaze, the second and final installment of the project.

Trigun Stargaze is set to premiere in January 2026, and the lineup for that month is already looking stacked. With shows like My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and Jujutsu Kaisen returning, anime fans have plenty to look forward to, and Stargaze is just another reason to be excited. January can’t come soon enough.

Here’s how Crunchyroll describes Trigun Stargaze:

It’s been two and a half years since the Lost JuLai tragedy, which laid waste to an entire city and plunged the planet into chaos. Meryl, now a senior journalist, continues her search for Vash with her new partner, Milly, and runs into Wolfwood along the way. As plant robberies begin taking place once again, they suspect that Millions Knives’s organization is conspiring behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, Vash has taken the new name Eriks and is living in hiding in a remote town when he receives an unexpected visit from Jessica, a young girl with an SOS from the third ship they call home. Determined to protect those dear to him, he decides to finally put an end to the long-standing feud.

Just as the pieces of the story begin falling back into place, the planet receives a message from deep space: “We are a fleet of colony ships from Earth... Those who wish may accompany us to a new frontier.” The entire population celebrates, but their joy is short-lived as the one-winged angel returns to bring devastation once more. Fates collide in a final showdown that will decide the future of the planet.

With a setup like that, it’s hard not to get excited about what’s next for Vash the Stampede. The Preshaa team definitely can’t wait for January to roll around. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and TikTok for all your anime news and updates.
