Marvel Zombies Will Return With Three New Halloween Specials.
Marvel Zombies is coming back from the dead with three new animated specials, each scheduled to premiere around Halloween over the next three years.
Marvel Television and Marvel Animation made the announcement during their New York Comic Con panel, revealing that the upcoming specials will be titled Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Zombies: The Fist of Khonshu, and Marvel Zombies: The Last Guardian. The first special is expected to arrive in 2027, followed by the second in 2028 and the final instalment in 2029.
The titles suggest that the new stories will expand the animated universe beyond the surviving heroes featured in the first season. The Winter Soldier appears to point toward Bucky Barnes, while The Fist of Khonshu is likely connected to Moon Knight. The final special, The Last Guardian, remains the most mysterious, with Marvel keeping the identity of its central character under wraps.
Marvel Zombies director Brian Andrews is returning for the new projects, which were described as gory, blood-soaked, and visually ambitious. The specials are reportedly being developed as two-part events, with production already underway on the early animatics.
The announcement gives Marvel Zombies a longer-term future on Disney+, transforming the series from a one-off animated experiment into an annual Halloween event. The first special, Marvel Zombies: The Winter Soldier, is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
