Netflix confirms Bridgerton season 5 has finished filming
Bridgerton season 5 has completed filming outside London, Netflix confirmed in an October 26, 2026 update. The new season remains scheduled for 2027, although an exact premiere date has not been announced.
The confirmation follows earlier reports that individual cast members had completed their work. On October 20, What’s on Netflix reported Luke Thompson’s comments about finishing filming, but subsequently added clarification from a Netflix representative that the season had not yet fully wrapped. Netflix’s latest update now confirms production has concluded.
Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza lead the fifth season as Francesca and Michaela Stirling, bringing the series its first central same-gender romance. Their story draws inspiration from Julia Quinn’s novel When He Was Wicked. Showrunner Jess Brownell has described the season’s approach as one centred on yearning and queer joy, retaining the romance, humour and emotional stakes associated with the series.
The production milestone is the new development. Netflix had already announced the lead pairing and the 2027 release window. The announcement does not specify a premiere month or whether the episodes will arrive together or in separate batches.
