Aikatsu Stars! anniversary film sets January 22, 2027 Japanese release, reveals main trailer
Aikatsu Stars! Hoshiboshi no Progress will open in Japanese cinemas on January 22, 2027. Bandai Namco Pictures announced the date on October 17 at a fan meeting in Ikebukuro, alongside the film’s main trailer and a new key visual. The film marks the television anime’s tenth anniversary.
The new story finds Yume Nijino and her friends approaching graduation when Elza of Neo Venus Ark invites them to perform at Venus Jamboree, a live event bringing together leading idols from around the world. A mysterious passenger ship called Petit Venus Ark also enters the picture. Between preparations and their everyday commitments, the girls must consider their ambitions and the paths they will take after graduation.
Teruo Sato returns from the television series to direct at Bandai Namco Pictures, with original series head writer Yuko Kakihara writing the story and Yukiko Aikei returning as character designer. Sena, Rie, Miki, Nanase and Kana perform the opening song, “Five stars,” and ending song, “Anata e.” The trailer previews “Five stars.”
The October announcement establishes an exact release date for the previously announced film, rather than unveiling a separate project. The confirmed opening applies to Japan; the announcements reviewed do not establish international theatrical dates or streaming availability.
