Fate/Strange Fake Anime Sequel Officially Confirmed.

A new season of Fate/strange Fake has officially entered production, continuing the twisted Holy Grail War after the first season concluded in March. The announcement arrived alongside a teaser trailer and visual featuring Ayaka Sajyou, Saber, and Sigma, but fans may still have another wait ahead of them, as no release date or streaming platform has been confirmed. Crunchyroll streamed the first season, however, so it would hardly be surprising to see the series return to the platform for its next chapter.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Fate/strange Fake is set in Snowfield, Nevada, where a new group of Masters and Servants are drawn into a twisted recreation of the Holy Grail War. The ritual is flawed from the beginning, with a missing Servant class, impossible summonings, and an entire city secretly prepared as its battleground. What initially resembles another fight for the wish-granting Grail quickly descends into something far more chaotic as the rules holding the war together begin to collapse.

The anime’s journey to television has been almost as unusual as the war itself. A-1 Pictures first introduced the story through the hour-long Whispers of Dawn special in 2023. The first episode of the television series was later shown at the Fate 20th Anniversary Showcase in November 2024 before airing in Japan that December. Following another lengthy wait, the series finally began its regular weekly run in January 2026 and concluded in March, ending with a clear promise that the story would continue.

A-1 Pictures will return to produce the new season, with Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume once again directing. Daisuke Ohigashi will also return to oversee the series composition, while Hiroyuki Sawano will continue composing the music. That consistency should be welcome news for fans, particularly after the first season earned praise for its ambitious action, striking animation, and Sawano’s unmistakable score.

The new teaser places Ayaka Sajyou, Saber, and Sigma at the centre of the next chapter, accompanied by the tagline, “Rise Against the Rules.” It does not reveal much about what lies ahead, but considering how many competing factions, hidden motives, and dangerous Servants remain in play, Snowfield’s false Holy Grail War is nowhere near finished.
