Phantom Busters reveals lead cast and TOHO animation STUDIO production team

Phantom Busters has announced its four lead voice actors and main production staff, alongside a teaser visual released on October 27, 2026. TOHO animation STUDIO will animate the television adaptation of Neoshoco’s supernatural comedy manga, with Chika Nagaoka directing and Takahiro Kishida and Rina Iwamoto handling character designs.

Nobuhiko Okamoto voices Mogari, a high school student who can devour spirits. Natsuki Hanae plays Koreshiki, an academically gifted student with no spiritual sensitivity; Koki Uchiyama plays Zaki, a manga enthusiast who can see ghosts; and Ryota Suzuki voices Tamon, who can communicate with spirits but struggles to connect with people. The new visual brings the four members of the Phantom Busters together.

Set in Kamakura, the story follows Mogari after he leaves his strict family home hoping to enjoy ordinary teenage life. Instead, he is tasked with exorcising the city’s spirits. His encounter with the skeptical Koreshiki leads to the formation of a school exorcism club, with Zaki and Tamon completing its unusual membership.

The manga runs in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine. Nagaoka’s directing credits include Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram and Tamon’s B-Side, while Kishida is known for character design on Haikyu!!.

The anime remains scheduled for 2027, a window first announced in September. October’s reveal adds the cast, staff and visual; it does not establish a specific premiere date. An international distributor and regional streaming availability have not been announced in the materials reviewed.
