Netflix has released a new full trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, alongside a poster introducing more of its characters. The promotional update arrived on October 14, ahead of the anime’s October 20, 2026, premiere.
The new series tells a standalone, ten-episode story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Netflix has confirmed that it follows a fresh group of mercenaries, with redemption and revenge at the centre of their story. The October release date was announced in August; the latest reveal provides a fuller preview of the production.
Studio TRIGGER returns to animate the series, with Kai Ikarashi directing. Ikarashi previously directed the original anime’s sixth episode, “Girl on Fire.” Ichigo Kanno handles character designs, Masahiko Otsuka is responsible for the screenplay, and Bartosz Sztybor returns as showrunner, story writer, and producer.
The first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premiered in September 2022 with ten episodes, also animated by TRIGGER. The follow-up retains the Night City setting while shifting its focus to another group of characters, giving the franchise room to explore a separate story within the same world.
