Nue’s Exorcist Anime Announced for Summer 2027, First Teaser Released
Kota Kawae’s Nue’s Exorcist is getting a television anime adaptation, with a summer 2027 broadcast confirmed for Japan. The announcement arrived during Shueisha’s Jump Press presentation on October 12, alongside a teaser video, visual and the first cast details.
Studio Hibari is producing the series. Hiroyuki Hashimoto directs, with Hiroshi Seko handling series composition, Shumpei Mochizuki designing the characters and MONACA providing the music. Saori Onishi will voice Nue, while Sayumi Suzushiro plays Kazusa Suo.
The manga has run in Weekly Shonen Jump since May 2023. It follows Gakuro Yajima, a student who can see supernatural beings, whose discovery of Nue in a hidden room at his school draws him into a world of exorcists and dangerous encounters.
The adaptation follows a notable show of reader support: the manga placed first in AnimeJapan’s 2025 poll asking fans which manga they wanted adapted into anime. By September 2026, it had surpassed 1.6 million copies in circulation.
The teaser introduces the central supernatural partnership and previews character voices. A specific premiere date, episode count and international streaming service were not included in the announcement.
