I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World season two confirms January 2027 premiere

I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too will return for its second season in January 2027. The release window was revealed on October 15 alongside the sequel’s first promotional trailer, a new key visual and additional cast members.

The new season follows Yuya Tenjo as he trains to control a newly acquired power connected to the force known as “Evil.” While that threat continues to grow, Yuya is also preparing for an official match against the Sword Saint in the kingdom of Regal, bringing another formidable opponent into his life.

Ikumi Hasegawa joins the cast as Iris Knowblade, the Sword Saint and one of the strongest warriors among the Saints. A master swordswoman searching for a man stronger than herself, Iris develops an interest in Yuya through their encounter. Sora Amamiya will play Mai Kagurazaka, a girl from Yuya’s world who was summoned to the fantasy realm as a Saintess and possesses the ability to purify Evil.

In comments accompanying the announcement, Hasegawa described Iris as strong and dignified, teasing how her relationship with Yuya will develop. Amamiya described Mai as mysterious and initially prickly, but also caring and more easily embarrassed than she first appears.

The returning Japanese cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yuya, Akari Kito as Kaori Hojo and Kaori Maeda as Lexia von Arselia. Ai Kakuma returns as Luna, alongside Rina Hidaka as Yuti and Marina Inoue as Kuro. Studio Millepensee is once again producing the animation, with Shin Itagaki directing and Hiromi Kimura returning as character designer.

The anime adapts Miku’s light novels, illustrated by Rein Kuwashima, which began publication in 2018. The series follows a bullied teenager whose discovery of a doorway to another world gives him abilities that also transform his everyday life. Yen Press publishes both the novels and Kazuomi Minatogawa’s manga adaptation in English.

The first season aired for 13 episodes between April and June 2023. A television special followed in March 2026, with season two announced that same month at AnimeJapan. January 2027 is the confirmed Japanese broadcast and streaming window; an exact premiere day, episode count and international streaming arrangements have yet to be detailed in the announcements reviewed.
