Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara releases first anime-footage teaser

Tsuburaya Productions and Toei Animation released a new teaser for Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara on October 18, offering a first look at footage from the anime and the voices of its two central characters. The project remains scheduled for release in 2027, a previously announced window.

Aya Yamane voices Maru, a boy who hunts kaiju to earn a living in a society where real and virtual worlds coexist. Karin Takahashi plays Coco, a girl from the Aidara people who can handle kaiju and wants humans and monsters to live together. Their contrasting relationships with the creatures underpin the story.

The production credits list S/N as director and Katsuie Shibata as screenwriter. Sei Nakashima and Masatsugu Saito provide character designs, while Tsuburaya’s Masayuki Goto designs the kaiju. Arect and Toei Animation handle animation production.

The project expands a franchise that has already explored short animation, virtual reality, and mixed-reality gaming. Alongside the teaser, the production unveiled another visual featuring Coco reaching toward a kaiju.

An exact release date and international distribution arrangements have not been announced.
