The Apothecary Diaries film releases new trailer featuring Kenshi Yonezu’s theme song
The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady’s Treasure has released a new main trailer ahead of its December 11, 2026 cinema opening in Japan. Unveiled on October 22, the preview introduces Kenshi Yonezu’s theme song, “Haru ga Tomori,” alongside a new key visual. The franchise’s official website confirmed both announcements.
The franchise’s first theatrical feature follows Maomao and Jinshi into a mystery involving the remarkably preserved remains of a concubine who died five years earlier. Ordered to return her to her homeland, Jinshi brings Maomao to the southern province of Binan-shu, where a bustling waterfront city is also caught up in a hunt for hidden treasure.
Original series creator Natsu Hyuga wrote the film’s new story. Norihiro Naganuma directs, with TOHO animation STUDIO handling animation production. Hyuga is also preparing a novel version that will include material beyond what appears in the film.
The December 11 date applies to Japan. Crunchyroll has announced international distribution rights, but the sources reviewed do not establish individual overseas cinema dates.
