Though I Am an Inept Villainess releases new trailer for January 2027 return

Though I Am an Inept Villainess has released a teaser trailer for its second cour, offering a first look at the next chapter ahead of its January 2027 Japanese broadcast. The trailer arrived on October 23, 2026. The release window was announced in September, so the new development is the footage rather than a newly confirmed premiere date.

The next arc takes Kou Reirin and Shu Keigetsu to the southern territory for a harvest ceremony, moving the fantasy drama beyond its palace setting. The official introduction places the two heroines at the centre of another challenge involving court responsibilities and hidden threats.

Based on Satsuki Nakamura’s novels, illustrated by Yukikana, the series follows a physically frail noblewoman whose life changes when a rival switches their bodies. Reirin’s response to gaining a healthy body gives the story its unusual approach to palace intrigue. Manaka Iwami voices Reirin, while Natsumi Kawaida plays Keigetsu.

Doga Kobo produces the animation, with Mitsue Yamazaki directing, Yoshiko Nakamura handling series composition and Ai Kikuchi designing the characters.

The continuation is the second part of the television series, rather than a separately announced second season. An exact January premiere day and international release schedule have not been established in the new material reviewed.
